Unwilling to let the leaders of the goblin attack escape,
Euwyn had Ilyana track them to their home. There the party found the village
all but deserted with just a few young goblins scavenging among the remains for
food. Shelby claimed to be able “sense the evil” in even these young ones, but
Prince Euwyn stayed her hand. While the party searched for clues, a familiar
voice called from the edge of the village. It was Longlegs, the former chief of
the village with whom they had struck the previous peace accord. His legs were
shattered and he walked on crutches. Marty healed him much to the goblin’s
amazement, and Longlegs vowed to gather the young ones together and lead them
to safety, while the party tracked the war band toward the city. Shelby was
surprised that she could NOT sense evil in Longlegs.
A day’s march toward the city found a sizeable force of
goblins under the command of the Sticky Lord and the Frog-Talker Witch, but
with Ilyana’s powerful woodland magic the force was easily divided and taken
down. The leaders tried to flee when the battle turned against them. Marty
chased down the Sticky Lord, but Frog-Talker Witch turned to mud and escaped
into the ground.
